This is very likely not a problem with Ubuntu, but with the flash
player itself. Ubuntu does not build this application from source, it
is only distributed via binary from Adobe. In fact, the package
description says "WARNING: Installing this Ubuntu package causes the
Adobe flash plugin to be downloaded from www.adobe.com."
It could be that the current version of Adobe flash doesnt like the new
kernel. Maybe wait a while (or use a different flash player if it is
offered for the 64-bit kernel) for adobe to update their flash player
then reinstall
