audio error in VLC

Unable to open 'cdda://scd0/Track%201.wav' is the error I get when I try to
play a CD I made on this very computer. I can not get any program to play,
inc. xhale, replayer, movie player, nothing. Worked fine before the last
update. I've rebooted to no avail.

Thanks for any help.
