Dear all,

unfortunately, installing 8.04 completely from scratch did not help
either.
How can it happen that a file that's there cannot be found if its
complete path
is given ?

What are the permissions for the file?

Problems like this are permission related more often than not.

Alan,

thanks for responding.
I got these rights

-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 1057 2008-06-30 14:24 chunker-read-lemma.perl
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 996 2008-06-30 14:24 chunker-write-lemma.perl
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 5811 2008-06-30 14:24 filter-chunker-output-french.perl
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 2293 2008-06-30 14:24 filter-chunker-output-german.perl
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 2232 2008-06-30 14:24 filter-chunker-output.perl
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root list 4349 2008-06-30 14:24 filter-coordinate-output.perl

and can't find them.
What I don't understand is that executing another script that calls a file lookup.perl
in the same directory, with the same rights, works, while this one cannot
find these perl files, even though all files are in the same directory.

Thank you for any help.

Best regards,

Axel
