Playing cdda://1.
Found audio CD with 6 tracks.
Cache fill: 0.00% (0 bytes)

I heard the disc spin but that's all. At the moment I have no sound of
any
sort.

OK - that's a separate issue not related to the cdda issue - as you see,
the device was found and mplayer attempted to play it, but you heard no
sound.

By the way Gary, did you read my post? I specifically asked you quite
politely *not* to top post. It makes it very difficult to have a sensible
sequential conversation.

Peter

Sorry, did not make note of the 'top post' request. I always do top post
figuring people won't have to wade through replies. Apparently that's not
what most people prefer. But thanks for being polite and I am sure you
understand I was not trying to be rude.

I just rebooted and sound came back to Cd and to a utube video. Not sure
why it is coming and going. I understand there are 2 separate issues.
