Re: hash sum mismatch when trying to upgrade

Thanks but unfortunately none of this worked. The upgrade form the site you mentioned gave the same mirror results, and the instructions you suggested gave so many complaints there were too many to mention here :(

I guess I don't understand why the hash sum mismatch issue exists in the first place. I just setup a brand new 6.06_2. Installed basic server, no LAMP. I literally ONLY did the following after installing the base OS

Set the IP info for my local network
Commented out cdrom form sources.list
Apt-get update (successful)
Apt-get install dist-upgrade (successful)
Apt-get install update-manager-core (successful)
Do-release-upgrade -d (hash sum mismatch errors!!)

How can I be the only one having this problem? The same thing is happening with every single server I test this on. My network is fine. No network CRC errors or anything that might be screwing up packets in transit.

Im just completely at a loss here.

Bit of a WAG here, but did you:

If you run an Ubuntu server, you should use the new server upgrade system.

1. enable the "dapper-updates" repository
2. install the new "update-manager-core" package - dependencies
include python-apt, python-gnupginterface and python2.4-apt.
