Hi Karl,

That did it. I deleted messages.log, restarted NB, and it wrote the new one
and logged to it as expected when I tried to print. I copied out the
relevant portion to a separate file as recommended by Leonard Chatagnier and
will attach it to the issue I filed at NB.org
Thanks very much for the help, Karl. And thanks _very_ much for rendering
it without calling me an idiot. I haven't used Unix in 20 years and I'm
totally new to Linux. I know I have some 'bad habits' I bring along from
many years in Windows like forgetting to check the man pages (though I do
typically use --help before I try something new). With help like yours I'm
sure I'll break those bad habits sooner than I would otherwise.
Best regards,
Bill
