Best way to share Thunderbird Profiles across multiple machines.

In the past I've shared Thunderbird Profiles between Ubuntu and XP on a
dual boot machine.
Now I'd like to share Thunderbird Profiles across a local network
between 2 Ubuntu machines and 1 XP box.
Instead of a Network Area Server, I want to designate one machine as the
first one on, and have it host the Thunderbird Profiles as well as other
files across the local net.
By Thunderbird Profiles, I mean the complete set, multiple email
accounts, and their associated mail folders.
What's the best way to make this work? Anyone here have this working
already?
