Which version of Ubuntu did you load on your system?

http://releases.ubuntu.com/8.04/

My _guess_ is that you probably loaded the standard 32 bit, but you can
check by opening a terminal (Applications|Accessories|Terminal) and
entering:

uname -a
lsb_release -a

Post the output of those commands. Note: if you have x86_64 in the
output of 'uname -a' you are running 64 bit, if you have i686 in the
output instead, then you are running 32 bit.

You need the "Debian" (For Debian Users:) version.
