Bart sent me a simple file off list, that was known to be openable. I
still had trouble and got a 'Read error' message. I then remembered
that way back in 7.04 timeframe I had installed an extension that was
supposed to convert these formats to odf formats, but I never could
get it to work properly. So I disabled that extension, and I could open
all the docx's in question (after selecting MS Word 2007 from a long
list of doc types). Two of those docs appear to have some missing graphics,
but at least they opened, and the text was readable. Huge improvement.
