how to enable IBM notebook scroll button?

Dear all:
I have install ubuntu on my x22 and xubuntu on T43.
The scroll button, the blue one between mouse right and left key,
always cannot be enabled.
Have anyone install ubuntu on IBM and have the same problem before?
