The list is very big in this space.

- Photoshop (goes WAY beyond GIMP for professional photo manipulation
like RAW batch processing)
- Starry Night Pro (take Stellarium and KStars, and blend the best of
both and you are still missing a lot of what Starry Night Pro brings)
- Nokia / Ericsson / (name your phone brand here) custom
management software

To name a few. :)

I would have to ask, what do 90% ( if not more ) of the users of Windows
software use?

Office: Outlook, Explorer, Word, Excel, Aim and maybe PowerPoint.
Home & Kids: Add iTunes

If you gave them that on a Linux box with rock solid performance and
document compatability with Office, then you will still share. We are
close, but we are not ready for prime time.

An example of a serious problem; check out the issues we have getting
Yahoo games to work in Mozilla. How about watching movies?

Once you start making noise with building market share, other companies
will make Linux versions of their software.
