hello, I am a new user to Linux and installed Ubuntu 8.10 on my Toshiba P300 with built in dial-up modem HD Audio with comexant chipset. As I live in the countryside in France with only a 56K modem possibility, I absolutely need a PPPmodem connection, but after downloading and installing the HSF driver, I can't detect my modem (there is no such thing as system in the Windows control panel) and under System management I find only Network tools, but no Network. Looking for the installed driver under System-Hardwire drivers, I get the message "No propietary drivers are in use on this system" How do I go about configuring my Modem? Thanks for any help Karel |
