Is there a quick way to solve this? I tried downloading and installing
some of the dependencies, but they do not install either (they also
have dependencies):
$ sudo dpkg -i libgcc1_4.2.3-2ubuntu7_i386.deb
dpkg - warning: downgrading libgcc1 from 1:4.2.4-1ubuntu4 to

Well it _did_ ask for 4.3.2, not 4.2.3 :-) ("downgrading" is a clue)
