mirror copy of ubuntu 8.10 installation from one desktop to other

I had Ubuntu 8.10 installed on a desktop over a month back and I have
now configured many settings and softwares on it. I have an older
desktop in another location (city) where I now have Ubuntu 8.10. Can I
make this second desktop a mirror copy of the first -- settings,
packages, softwares etc?
