There is no where on the help menu or web page that tells anyone on how
to use the terminal properly to install programs.

If you're installing that way, you're expected to have learned that much
already.

I wouldn't say that I learned most of what I know by trying again and again
until I understood. Some tutorials are easier than others to follow and the
first time I tried to install a program this way it seemed complicated at
the time. The good thing is with perseverance you can do mostly what you
want which I can't with Windows (How do I set up a printer without CD? I
never did it in Windows and am printing with Ubuntu)
