LS Tutorial

I have recently knocked my computer down because I was bored and had no
projects going on. Everything on the rebuild went as smoothly as flight
over the desert in August in a sailplane except for installing LaCie 4L,
the primary lightscribe app. That I use. There has been a major problem
with installing this software from the date I bought my first
Lightscribe Burner. I run Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and when I attempt to download
the software from the lightscribe website I always get a link to a video
that never loads and that is the end of it. After a couple days of
searching I finally found this link to a location to download the app.
http://uploads.mitechie.com/lightscribe/4l_1.0-r6_i386.debThe system
software was downloaded from the LaCie web site with no problem and if
you will use the link above you'll be satisfied much more quickly than I
was.

Now, install the software and you'll find that it's missing, the newbies
will. Right click on Applications, at the top left of your screen, and
select Edit Menus. Now, in the left frame of the window, select where
you want your Launcher to appear and it will open in the right frame.
From the far right click the New Item button. In the Name position type
a name to appear, I used 4L and in the command line you can type
“/usr/4L/4L-gui” and click OK. Pop a Lightscribe disk in and burn your
first label.
