Hello,
You are not providing very much information for us to use in answering
your questions, however, here is what I think.
go here to download the .iso image:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-server
at a terminal type
md5sum nameofthecdimage.iso
it will give you a hash that you can compare to this list to see if the
image was downloaded completely and without data loss or corruption:

if the hashes match then use K3B to burn a cd .iso image. select the
image you downloaded and have it verify the written data. When the burn
process is finished leave the disk in the machine and type this:
sudo md5sum /dev/cdrom
it should give you a hash to compare again. it should be the same hash
if the cd was burned properly.
Now, you know that you have a good disk, try the install on the server
again, and then let us know how it goes.
