Re: Openoffice not starting

drew einhorn:

I assumed one of the files hidden in my home directory .openoffice...
something or other has been corrupted. I blew them all away with a:

rm -rf .openoffice*

That didn't help either.

I'm still assuming it's something corrupted in my home directory, but what?

Sometimes programs print error messages on their standard output - which
you probably won't see if you start them using the menu. It's at least
worth a try to either
- start OOo from a terminal (type ooffice),
- take a look at ~/.xsession-errors after trying to start OOo using the
menu.
Maybe this way you'll get some hint to what exactly went wrong.
