Karl trying to help is, more often than not, part of the problem.  If he
was just yet another rude member of the list, he could be ignored when
you're tired of the flaming and the list continues as it always does.
Karl is a special case however, since list members have to keep a close
eye on his activities for those times he tries to help by leading people
down very dangerous paths on topics that are far over his head.
I agree and I'll drink to that.

I've never used SATA hard drives, but I've heard they aren't that
problematic if you buy good parts that are sturdy and well-built and
know what you're doing. I've found that IDE can be nearly impossible
to figure out if you don't have either a good understanding of the
master/slave relationship and how the cables work, or a cable that
simply can't be inserted wrong. I've also had TONS of issues with
floppy drive cables.

From what I understand, Karl has a special SATA cable that connects
the hard drive to a nonstandard connector on the motherboard, and this
nonstandard connector is not very well made, and causes the whole
setup to be faulty, correct?
