Hi Ken, the Karmic Beta version came out yesterday and today
we are all trying to do the same thing you need to do. I had
trouble with my Jaunty update this morning, but it did finish
after 30 minutes.

My advice to everyone is to cool it today and maybe tomorrow.
I want to get my Karmic working but it is not going to be done
today. I tried to get the old editor joe. My system worked 30
minutes and knew what to do but it just could not reach
99.189.88.40 and errored out in 15 minutes.

Decide where on the globe it is currently between say 2am and 5am. Find a
mirror there. Point apt at it. Enjoy.
