Re: Where i can find drivers for ubuntu?

Arshad,

Yiou are approaching the problem from the wrong angle. I mean - let's fix
the NIC problem - it will make your life a lot easier!

Please provide us with the following information:

What version of Ubuntu are you running (Ubuntu, Kubuntu, 9.10, 9.04...)?
Open a terminal window and enter the following commands, each of
them separately, then copy and paste the results:

lspci

cat /etc/issue

The first one will tell us which devices you have on your motherboard (like
the NIC) and the second will tell us the answer to to my first question.

We'll see how to proceed from there.

Ok, forget my answer on Message-Id:

I didn't read that the sources you tried to compile are for kernel 2.4,
my fault.

But again the question: why not connecting to the router with wired
ethernet or wifi/wlan?

Christian

thank you very much Christian,
the problem is, (Which i have sort help in another post titled-How do i
know whether my NIC works or not?) i cannot connect to the ethernet.

lan light flashing neither in router nor in NIC port. but the router
works well in another pc. so i had to give up the idea of connecting
through ethernet as so far im unable to figureout the problem and wanted
to go through USB.
