I would like to add some frequently used OO spreadsheets to the
Applications Menu. If I fill out the Application dialog when I try to
run it I get a message saying I don't have permission. If I fill out
the Location dialog when I close it the item does not appear on the menu.

The application you need to launch is oocalc, with your spreadsheet as
an argument to the command. So the command to execute will look
something like

oocalc /path/to/your/spreadsheet

If you have lots of these, you might be better adding a submenu for them
rather than cluttering up the existing menus. Alternatively use the desk
drawer widget for the task bar.

OK, that works. Yes I am planning on using a submenu. I had forgotten
about the desk drawer widget. I'll have to try it both ways and see
which I like better.

Thanks, Jim
