There are a whole lot of server questions on this list which I
avoid because my Linux is my own everyday computer and it is now
version 10.04 Desktop. But wonder how the server systems take care of
turning them on and off, and do they have Firefox?
most servers do not run a graphical environment, so, no. no firefox.
they also, well, mine dont, get turned off or on like a normal desktop
machine. ive got a poweredge 750 fileserver thats been on since last
september when i bought it, uptimes of years are not uncommon.
I do realize a server is left turned on 24/7 but it must get
updates like I do. How does a server do this?
through ssh.
