Regarding games. There are many commercial Windows games that run on
Linux, by downloading and installing some files in Linux from the
companies that create them.
For example id Software provides Linux support for all their commercial
games.
You may check this:
ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff
There are also many great free games that run on Linux.
Now regarding Office 2010 and Linux. The cleanest approach for me is
installing Windows in a virtual machine in Linux, and running Windows in
there.
There is the free Virtual Box, and the commercial VMware. VMware is very
good. Virtual Box is free.
