Hi,
When I issue the command to revoke the key, I am prompted for the
passphrase (which, of course, I don't have). How can I revoke this key?
If I can't, how should I handle this situation? Generate a new key and
start over and just ignore the old one or....?
Thank you Kara. I didn't think I could recover it as that would be a
huge security hole. Thankfully, I ended up remembering my passphrase
before I generated a new one and have taken care to save it somewhere
securely.
It does tend to get ridiculous trying to keep up with mandated "security"
measures. The wife works at a state job that requires each of them to change
passwords every month. In her department every one of the employees has their
current password written on a post-it and stuck to the monitor!
