On a job in California I used a USB wireless modem with my laptop that
had 10.04 on it. I was expecting a bit of a hassle but it was purely
plug-and-play; Network Manager showed me Verizon's network, I clicked
on it to connect. Done.
The USB device provided to me was Verizon's UM175, I don't know who
manufactures it or if it's the same as the ones previously mentioned.
I haven't seen the UM175 for a while, they now sell the UM190 which
comes pre-installed with a card and has the ability to work anywhere.
