A long time back I had asked this question on Ubuntu forum here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1368950
at that time I was using Jaunty 32 bit.
Now I am using Lucid 64 bit and the situation is same.
I want to watch a live stream which is available here
http://www.shrisaibabasansthan.org/shirdilivedarshan1.htm
From the web page I believe this
<OBJECT id=WMP7 style="LEFT: 110px; WIDTH: 352px; TOP: 0px; HEIGHT:
352px" height=352 width=352
classid=CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6> embeds a
Windows Media Player ActiveX control in the page. Â I don't think
this will work other than on Windows. Â I cannot believe there are
still sites out there using ActiveX Controls. Â I believe that It is
a major security risk on Windows so I would not advise going there
on a Windows machine either.

What is the security risk in this?
Is there a way I can see the site on Ubuntu ?

Just today I found that Wine is starting to support ActiveX just a wee
tiny little bitty bit:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/12/wine-1-3-9-brings-beginnings-of-activex-support/
and even more:
http://www.winehq.org/announce/1.3.9

Why not test it out? Who knows, it might just work!

And you will also of course have a virus scanning program installed for
it to check what ActiveX may be up to, right? :-) .
