I really truly tired to fix on my own and even search on goodgle but so far
i have failed so that's why i'm posting here.
I have 1 cd-rom and 1 cdrw 32x.
I believe i need to ide-cd and ide-scsi simultaneously..
**************************
this what i put in my modules.conf
alias scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi
options ide-scsi ignore=hdb
**************************
and this is what i put in my lilo.conf
append="hdb=ide-scsi,hda=ide-cd"
**************************
note my master cd readonly "hda"
and slave cd is cd-rw "hdb"
and they both respond to
eject /dev/hda (cd-r)
eject /dev/hdb (cd-rw)
I didn't copy my conf files from redhat which was working perfectly with
cd-rw and i was able to record/burn iso very nicly but it doesn't seems to
work in conectiva (brazilian redhat base distro).
**************
this what i get when i do cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord 2.0 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jörg Schilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot open
SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you are
root.
cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'.
**************
when i typed # insmod ide-scsi
Using /lib/modules/2.4.21-28872cl/kernel/drivers/scsi/ide-scsi.o
I am assuming this means ide-scsi is compilied/installed. Sorry i posted
more then 1 question but i tried my best and i dunno what i'm doing wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
