Pull the drive and put it in another machine. Overwrite several times
with varying patterns. If yoou want a simple clean it only takes
once. If you want it unrecoverable it takes several passes to defeat
available recovery programs. More to defeat the government.
BTW, does it have a USB port? Can you use a USB device to run the
wipe prog from after you boot to the system? There must be some way
to boot to another device.
