HOW to see MODEM with LINDOWS???

I have purchased Lindows 4.5 for laptops.

Problem: Lindows doesn't see my modem

Hardware:
Acer Aspire 1302
AMD athlon, 256 mb, 20gb, dvd-dcrw
MODEM: conextant 56 k

I know that some people have been successful using linux on this Acer
notebook.

Unfortunately, I'm a beginner, and I'm not able to get started.

Please, can anybody tell me what to do in order to make my modem
visible to Lindows?

About 2 months ago I turned on my Acer Aspire 5630, its a side of me it never wants to see again, no but seriously I powered up my Acer Aspire 5630 to be greeted by a continous beeping sound, the blue bar that goes across whilst the Acer logo was displayed froze. ...
