Install problems

Hi,

I have a problem that I have not encountered before. I try to reïnstall my
server (Clarkconnect 2.0), but the install procedure hangs. Tried it with
other distro's; same problem. Windows ME installs without a problem. XP
doesn't respond likewise. The HD was taken from an older P-133Mhz and worked
fine.
The specs: AMD K6-300, 128 MB RAM, 20 Gb HD Seagate,

Errormessage:

cramfs: wrong magic
FAT: unable to read boot sector

I am at a loss here and would appreciate some feedback,
