Samba is indeed what you need. Samba, when set up and working, is
transparent to the Windows machines. You can connect to the shares just as
if the Linux box was running Windows.
What does your smb.conf look like? Just the global section should be enough
for now. Do you have Webmin on the Linux box? It has an excellent Samba
module for getting everything working.
