I am having problems with UT2k4Demo which i've begun to trace back to my
agp slot and problems with my north/south bridge on my board.
Running AMD XP 2500 on a Shuttle AK 38/n board. KT333 <N> and KT8235 <S>
Nvid G-Force 4 mx 440 Vid card, board lan and sound
dmesg shows problems with agpgart not being able to load:
[excerpt from dmesg]
agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 439M
agpgart: Unsupported Via chipset (device id: 3199), you might want to
try agp_try_unsupported=1.
agpgart: no supported devices found
now it says something about trying agp_try_unsupported=1
but i don't really know HOW to try that, tried man agpgart and nothing,
have googled and grouped to no effect, i've found prople wiht similar
problems, but no solutions.
i think most of my issues with my video come back to this, so it seems
as a good place to start.
Any help on how try what the log suggests, or other suggestions would be
most helpful
