I have installed Mandrak9.2. It works great. The only downside is when I
try hosting my own site. The site index file can only be accessed by https
and the subdirectories are inaccessible although i made sure the ownership
and permissions from the /var/www down to the lowest subdirectory is the
same.
I have disabled autostart of sshd to no avail.
I actually copied the website files from a CD and just made sure the
ownership and permissions are the same as the /var/www files initially
installed there by default. I did not use upload ftp as enabling upload
would open up another can of worms for me. Could anyone suggest a bit more
painless solution please. Do i have to use the upload facility here?
