Hi,
I have a system with 2 hard Drives that mirror each other (Raid 1).
Q1 : How do I find out if the raid is a software type raid or a hardware
type raid ?
Q2 : I vaguely remember having read somewhere that installing the mirror
hard drives as master and slave on the same ide port can enormously
slow down the read/write times. Is this right ?
Q3 : Is there any way I can determine the total no of ide ports (i.e.
masters + slaves) available on the computer without opening the box ?
Q4 : Is it possible to add a new IDE hard drive to the system without
powering off the system ?
Thanks in advance.
shriram.
