X-windows does not see S3 graphics card

Hi,

I recently installed the latest version of Mandrake. In an older version, I
ran X-windows on this computer. This version tells me that it cannot find
devices and gives me the following error, 'Fatal Error: no screen found".

I have run xf86cfg, but the problem persists.

Any help is appreciated.
