I've mailed Earthlink News twice now, requesting that they add the
alt.os.linux.debian group to their Active List, and received personal
replies as well as auto-responses, yet am still getting a "411: No Such
Newsgroup" error from their server farm.

The replies have been positive: "Just send in the request and we'll do it."

But it hasn't happened.

Anyone know if there anything else I can do?

I'll see if I can post to it here. In my experience, newsservers don't post
to groups they don't list, but it's worth a try.
