I tried Suse 9.1 - the installation went totally smooth, but I can't get
the Wifi to work, and therefore have no Internet access.

Which distribution would you recommend ? I'm (almost) a complete newbie
for what concerns Linux and would like to have something which is easy
to install and has a good user interface - I'm not in the mode of
editing configuration files and spending hours searching the web for
drivers and documentation.

If there is such an "easy" distribution, I might use it to replace XP.
BTW, would be great if there also was a windows emulator, with which you
can run Windows programs. Suse 9.1 looks very good, but it doesn't have
Wifi support, so I can't use it.
