Um, did you ever consider trying the Vesa setup (which should at least give
you a functional 640x480 graphic display) and going from there? I can't
give you much more information because you have not given

--the version number of the Lycoris distribution
--the make/model of your video card
--the make/model of your sound card

I would suggest that you follow these steps, in order:

1. Try the default VESA installation. Chances are that you will have a
functioning GUI (Graphic User Interface). Once you have done that,

2. Do whatever is necessary to upgrade your Lycoris setup to the latest
version. That may well fix whatever problems you have. If it doesn't (or
even if it does),

3. Find your video card manufacturer's web site and see if they support
Linux and have drivers for it. You may have to use your head (hint: google
is your friend) in order to do that.

4. Find your sound card manufacturer's web site and see if they support
Linux and have drivers for it. You may have to use your head (hint: google
is your friend) in order to do that.

This, incidentally, is approximately what any knowledgable person would do
to solve such problems BEFORE posting to a newsgroup. That includes using
google groups to find others who have had the same problems with the same
distribution and hardware. If that fails, THEN you post to a
newsgroup--being certain, of course, to include ALL relevant data so that
those of us without crystal balls can perhaps help you.

Capiche?
