What about file/printer quota?

Why would they have to do that? If you do select a binary based linux distro,
you do never have to compile any program at all, even less the kernel.

Normal driver upgrade can cause the system to stop working, and uninstalling a
driver, thats more or less impossible in MS-world.

I understand that you want security updates and bugfixes only once a year,
instead of when the fault is discovered, maybe it's better to not get vital
security updates at all...
I don't see why you would have to recompile the kernel and if it screwed, did
you really see to compile the kernel for your CPU? Maybe you wanted to try a
PPC base kernel for your x86? If you need a driver that hasn't been compiled
by default, you _DON'T_ have to recompile the kernel, compile the module and
use modprobe to load it.

What says me a lot is the coolness to have to wait 6+ months for security
updfate, installation is a random process and everything is closed source, so
you can't modify things that you are unhappy with... but of course, there are
people who are happy with major limitations...

You may not want to sit and wait for an application to finish and then start
another application and let it work on the result from the previous
application, this can be avoided with right tools in a system that supports pipes.

What I have experienced, is that many applications for MSWin has put more on
the looks and animations, so that the application preforms slower... but thats
all okey with that 80348963THz CPU...

Has any one asked you to switch? If you think MSWin is best for you, then use
it. In my case, Linux does offer me what I need, whiel MSWin wouldn't offer me
anything usefull at all.

I don't think those members are diehard linux users, but in contrast to you,
they have experience from both worlds and therefore can compare the two
systems and tell their opinion.
While asking a person diehard MS-user, there aren't any experience of anything
at all, more than trolling about linux and maybe even MacOS.
