Has anyone else experienced problems with the combination of the Slax
LiveCD, Konqueror browser, KPPP dial-up networking, and the Opensurf
Simple ISP? The latter is one of the cheap and cheerful UK dial-up
connections using only a username, password, and 0845 number- it works
on Windows/Opera and DamnSmallLinux/Opera, but on Slax/Konqueror it
*usually* returns a message along the lines of "Unexpected Error" and
"Unknown Host" within the browser window. www.google.com displays
normally, and it used to work on all sites. Entering the DNS manually
doesn't seem to help. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Sorry to
be a bit vague, but you can probably understand the problems of
describing symptoms from one environment, while posting using another.
Is there an equivalent of winipcfg in Linux, or any other diagnostic
tools? Thanks for any help.
