You could take a try on Gentoo, it's okey and allows you to optimize it quite
well for your CPU, sadly it's not the best distro around, there is a lot of
things that could be improved. The major plus with Gentoo is the amount of
"packages" for it.
Of course you won't find anything as nice as AmigaOS/MorphOS, but you could
look into QNX, don't know if they have an MAD k8 native version for download.
