As a follow-up, the board did arrive last month and I am running Ubuntu
on it. I gave up on the 64-bit version for the time being. Nvidia is
gracious enough to supply the 64bit mobo drivers, but ATI does not
supply a 64-bit version of the video driver for my Radeon 9800 Pro
(alas). I have only one serious problem with this system that I have
not been able to resolve... I cannot use my SATA hard drive. I managed
to get rid of the chatty output of sata_nv in dmesg by disabling the
second (unconnected) SATA pair in BIOS. But trying to actually write
info to my SATA drive (including just getting the partitioning done)
errors out. Researching this, it appears that an NVidia developer is
working on the sata_nv module. So I have hope. The 250Gb Western
Digital SATA drive is presently making for an awfully expensive
paperweight while I wait. All and all, though, I am extremely pleased
with both the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum and with the Ubuntu Debian
    derivative distro.

    Peace,
