should I use OpenSSL 0.9.6m or 0.9.7g?

I'm currently running apache 1.3 with openssl 0.9.6m and have been for
a long time. I noticed that a 0.9.6n has not been released in a long
time. Is this because its no longer maintained? Should I be running
0.9.7g now instead?

I'm concerned I have a false sense of security now because I've
been running 0.9.6m for so long without an update.
