Good day, everyone!
I'm looking for a co-author to a new tome entitled, "Confessions of a Linux
Junkie."
I have been an on again/off again Linux junkie for a long time and have
accumulated a room full of notes. I would like to compile all this *stuff*
into something usable for someone trying to escape the Tyrants of
Richmond.........
I've been published, and have a certain style that some readers like. I pull
no punches and write for an audience of one. Sometimes I'm crass, and
sometimes I'm funny........but there is never a doubt as to where I stand on
an issue. I've been asked to submit a few chapters, and I'm toying with the
idea right now. I play a lot with Linux, and build systems just to
experiment. This box, alas, is on XP, as I need the few remaining programs
that haven't been ported.
What I need is someone that knows the present Linux kernel inside out. I
need someone to proof all my chapters, and write a few recipes for the
various specific distros. In other words, I'll be the wordsmith, and you can
take all the credit for the technical procedures. I plan on installing,
configuring, and using every single distro available today. I'm doing it
already on another box. What I want from you is a springboard to bounce off
the usual challenges that face most folks that haven't done this before. My
working (read estimate), schedule is 6 months, give or take 12. I'm now
retired, so I have the time to work. I need someone that either can has the
time, or can squeeze it in during week-ends.
I travel a bit, and might be available for a face to face meeting. This will
be a partnership, and all decisions and remuneration will be equally
divided. I'm not doing this for the money, but it might be prudent to engage
a commercial publisher. If someone here can smell the roses, then please
send me an e-mail. Your confidentiality is assured.
