Hello all!
I'm interested to find out what sort of opinion you all have about
Mandriva LE 2005? I just obtained a distro from the latest issue of Linux
Magazine and IMO it's been the best distro that I've used yet (besides
Ubuntu Live distro). Yet I've already heard some criticism concerning
this particular release. A friend of mine who swears by Linux is totally
disgusted with MLE 2005 and he's having nothing but problem after problem
with not only getting the bootloader to run properly but also recognizing
and then NOT recognizing certain hardware and just everything seems to be
a nightmare for him. On the other hand, I've had no problems other than
I'm still trying to get my Audigy sound card to run properly. Maybe
someone here could point me in the right direction to do this or maybe
that's another post. All in all I'm pretty well content with Mandriva and
I'm finding out that Linux is more than just an operating system, it's
somewhat of an experience in itself. I still have a Windows partition set
up on my system but I'm slowly moving away from that. I'll only use that
for gaming and a few other applications that I use that I find Windows to
be the best choice to use under. Other than that, using Mac OSX and
Mandriva is the way to go as far as what I see!
Thanks IA for any and all input.
D.C.
