I asked about one earlier. and a yepp from samsung was the result. 500
megabytes. Supports ogg files too. Has a decent microphone with the ability
to add an external sterio one if you want. And as a voice recorder,
(records in wav format) it can do a couple of days worth of recording!
Useful to spies, I guess. The voice recorder part of mp3 players is not
well marketed, I think. It recorded some whacky coffee shop conversation
just great.
Worked fine as mass storage in my linux and the lady's win 2000 for
transferring pics from trips round victoria.
And usb 2 but works with our usb 1 so all good in that regard. It froze
one time on voice recording so will see if that happens again.
She has it now so we shall see how it goes. she is keen on the fm radio part
of it.
As usual on these things, linux is not mentioned on the packaging so as
usual, the fear of it failing or blowing up. But it worked fine so far.
