I have been using distro called Conectiva, it's now merged with
Mandrake. I have had bad experience with Mandrake, as with Debian base
distro, both orginal and Corel. I don't feel good using Mandrake
distro.
I liked Conectiva distro, but now I am thinking of moving on.. It's a
shame. I tried using debian based distro, and unsuprisinlgy they are as
bad as before. Ubunto, is the worst, I tried installing samba, dosbox,
lynx, vim. It would try to uninstall one of the program most notably
mplayer. I love this program!
I have an old machine 800mhz celeron. I mostly used lynx, mplayer,
samba, firefox, k3b, and pan. I prefer distro with KDE, Synaptic,
apt-get features, and I prefer redhat base. However, I won't mind in
non redhat base (rpm), if they can give me everything I want.
Do you guys know any distro that can be run in my machine with my
desire program, and not forcing me to uninstall mplayer, samba, dosbox,
or anything else?
Thanks in advance.
