hardware clock tweaking

A friend using kubuntu says his clock is gaining like 5 mins. a day. I
recall seeing a utility to fine tune the system hardware clock on older
distro's of RedHat, but never had occasion to use it.

I'm currently running SuSE and my clock is fine. Does anyone know the
name of that utility or have other suggestions for my friend?
