What are the workarounds? Download support.. add it yourself.
The preferable outcome would be that flash manufacturers use an open standard instead. Data transfer between machines can use open networking standards.
I wonder... does the licence for using windows MFC and Win32 libraries preclude the use of GPL? That would mean you can't write windows programs and networking utilities specifically to talk to linux in gpl..
